Publishing
We have been representing publishers and authors for almost 50 years. Ike Williams represented Little, Brown as outside counsel for over 20 years and has worked as regional litigation counsel to major trade publishers here and abroad (he was a Director of Blackwell’s UK for many years). Our representation has involved drafting or negotiating publishing contracts, copyrighting and licensing text and First Amendment review and litigation regarding defamation and privacy.
Ike and Paul are co-authors of one of the leading treatises on publishing – Perle, Williams and Fischer on Publishing Law, Aspen Publishing, 3rd Edition 2014) and have lectured widely on the rights of publishers and authors. Ike is the former Chair of the American Bar Association’s Copyright Section and was a long time member of the National Endowment’s Literary Panel and is a Founder and Trustee of the Boston Book Festival and former Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Fine Arts Work Center (FAWC) in Provincetown, MA.
